4 Things to Know About the People of Bass Lake

We’ve known for years how wonderful the people of Bass Lake (and the surrounding areas) are, but it’s often in unfortunate situations that we get to see just how big their hearts are. Most recently, we witnessed the wonderful people in our community step up to care for Yosemite during the Government Shutdown. Through their actions, we were reminded of four things:

Nearly one month prior to Fiona & Sean tying the knot, the Ferguson Fire began in South Fork Merced River drainage on Sierra National Forest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ During the weeks following, the fire grew and ultimately claimed the lives of firefighters Brian Hughes ‍ and Braden Varney. ‍ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With these two brave men and their families in mind, Fiona & Sean decided to donate to the @thewffoundation –a foundation offering financial and emotional support to families of firefighters who’ve been injured or killed in the line of duty. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This selfless gesture is just one of many things that made this beautiful, real wedding unique. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Read more at blog.basslake.com ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #pinesresort #pinesresortbasslake #basslakeca #basslakecalifornia #lakeside #lakelife #realwedding #realweddings #pinesresortrealwedding #summerwedding #fallwedding #thewffoundation #weddingfavors #weddingfavorinspiration #weddingideas #fallweddingideas #outdoorwedding

Selfless

We’ve seen it time and time again. During the Ferguson Fire, we saw our community chip in and help those in need where they could. Even using their special moments to raise donations for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.

Hard-working

The people of Bass Lake are extremely hard working. And not just in the sense of going above and beyond for their families day in and day out. Be it a neighbor in need, a community fundraiser, or cleaning up Yosemite during the Government Shutdown, when something needs to be done –big or small– the people of Bass Lake show up.

Reliable

In fact, they don’t just show up to watch. They show up ready to do whatever is necessary to improve the situation. They not only do this willingly but with gratitude in their hearts.

The Best

In short, the Bass Lake community is made up of the most selfless, hard-working, reliable people. People who understand the value of showing up and putting effort into making our community –our world– a better place.

Thank you to all who contributed to keeping Yosemite as clean as it was during the shutdown; thank you for continually working to make our community a beautiful, enjoyable place for locals and visitors alike. Words cannot begin to express just how very thankful we are to be a part of such a wonderful community.
