The story of Ducey’s Bass Lake Lodge is part of the rich history of Bass Lake itself. Originally Freeman’s Bass Lake Lodge upon beginning in 1941, the property quickly became a beloved gathering place. Ducey’s is a long-time favorite of travelers seeking recreation in the Sierra National Forest.
In 1975, the restaurant became part of The Pines Resort, continuing its tradition of welcoming generations of visitors. The original building was lost to a grease fire in 1988. However, Ducey’s was thoughtfully rebuilt and reopened in 1991. Our modern restaurant preserves the character and legacy that make it a local landmark.
Today, guests can still experience that heritage throughout the restaurant. Historic photographs, original signage, handcrafted furnishings, and Bass Lake memorabilia honor the past. These features also create an inviting mountain lodge atmosphere.
