7. El Capitan
A rock climber’s delight. El Capitan is approximately 3,000 feet tall from the base to the top and was once considered impossible to climb. However, after Alex Honnold’s free solo climb (and Oscar-winning film), we know it’s not impossible. Although, it is one of the most challenging vertical rock formations to climb.
